The Shiloh Shepherd Learning Center has always been the premier place on the internet for Tina Barber's articles and information.
Tina (a.k.a. MaShiloh) was meticulous in her research and she'd spend countless hours tracking down information, talking to top canine geneticists, breeders, veterinary researchers, specialists, and anyone who could help her to perfect the Shiloh Shepherd breed.
Tina was always learning, and everything that she learned was freely shared with others. That's where the idea for the Learning Center came about... it was the place where Tina could share her thoughts, ideas and knowledge.
When Tina wrote an article she'd always include links to other people's work, supporting sites and documentation. She didn't just paraphrase, she'd lead her readers right to the sources of her information in an effort to share not only her own knowledge but that of so many other brilliant people.
When her articles were first written they were like a treasure map leading us along her path of knowledge, with jewels and links to other people's work sprinkled along the way. Unfortunately over the years and decades many of those other websites have been closed down or allowed to go untended, so many of the external links contained within Tina's articles no longer work.
As we move the Learning Center here to it's new home we're going through Tina's articles, one at a time, and testing every link to those external sites. Those that still work have been left in place. The links that no longer function have been removed, but the names of the pages have often been left in place to avoid chopping up Tina's articles to much. Other than those minor edits, her words have been left them as she wrote them.
Reading back over these articles makes me remember Tina, I can hear her voice echo as I read her words on these pages. She was fiery and magnetic when she spoke. She had strong opinions and was tireless in seeking any information that would help improve the Shiloh Shepherd breed. She did not suffer fools gladly and had little tolerance for nonsense, but to those that walked the pathway with her, she was caring and generous with everything she had.
With these things in mind, we invite you to read Tina's words and get a feel for what it took for one woman to create a breed. Thank you MaShiloh for your dedication and unwavering devotion to your lifelong cause, and for sharing with us your Shiloh Shepherds.
